Sources, named and dated
No figure without a source line. No source line without a date. This is the list those lines point at.
What this site stands on
5REFERENCES
Five, reviewed together, all of them published and checkable. If a figure on this site cannot be traced to one of them, it is a fault worth reporting.

The list
| Reference | What it decides here | Reviewed |
|---|---|---|
| 2024 Adult Compendium of Physical Activities | Every MET value on this site. Published for categories of conditioning exercise — never for an individual lift, which is why each card names the category it was filed under rather than inventing a number for itself. | JUL 2026 |
| ACSM metabolic equation (kcal/min = MET × 3.5 × body mass ÷ 200) | The only arithmetic used to turn a MET value into kilocalories. Printed in full on every card that uses it, at a 70 kg reference body mass. | JUL 2026 |
| Standard kinesiology references for joint action | Which muscle is credited as prime mover and which as synergist or stabiliser. Attribution follows the action being resisted, not where a lifter reports feeling the movement. | JUL 2026 |
| Resistance-training literature consensus on volume and rest | The sets, reps and rest ranges: heavy loads with long rests for maximal strength, moderate ranges for hypertrophy, short rests for endurance work. Ranges, never a single prescription. | JUL 2026 |
| Controlled trials of regional fat loss (“spot reduction”) | Why this site states flatly that no exercise removes fat from the area it trains. This is the most common claim in fitness content and it has been tested directly. | JUL 2026 |
What is deliberately not here
No supplement studies, because this site does not discuss supplements. No borrowed photographs, animations or diagrams — every figure is drawn as SVG for this site, so there is nothing to credit and nothing hotlinked. No named coach or influencer is cited as an authority: a technique claim either follows from the joint action or it does not belong on the card.
The method that turns these references into what you read is published in full at data and method. If a muscle attribution here is wrong, that is worth fixing quickly — send the URL and the correction.
Muscle roles follow standard kinesiology references and are described by joint action rather than by gym convention — see how this site is built. Energy figures are derived from the 2024 Adult Compendium of Physical Activities. Every reference is named and dated on the sources page. General information only — not medical or coaching advice. Load, form and progression should be adjusted to your own experience and any injury history. When in doubt, get coached in person.

The people behind these sites
Follow the build
This site and nine others like it are built and photographed by two people: Amit Sharma — behind the build; Geeta Patel — the poses, demonstrated. New work goes up on Instagram and Facebook before it reaches a page here.
Following changes nothing here — every page stays open, with no account and no wall.
