The prime mover produces the movement against the resistance; synergists assist and stabilisers hold a joint still without moving it. An exercise trains the whole muscle it loads — there is no way to work only part of a muscle, and no exercise removes fat from the area around it.
Set up, then earn the rep
Kettlebell. Every rep should look like the first one. The moment it stops looking like the first one, the set is finished.
PATTERN · HINGE
- Stand with the kettlebell about a foot in front of you, feet a little wider than the hips.
- Hinge at the hips, tip the bell towards you and hike it back between the legs like a rugby pass — above the knees, not below.
- Swing with one hand and keep the shoulders square — the trunk has to resist the rotation the offset load creates.
- Snap the hips forward hard and stand tall. The hips throw the bell; the arms only guide it.
- Let it float to chest height, then let it fall back into the next hinge, keeping the arms connected to the ribs.
- Finish the set by parking the bell in front rather than dropping it from the top.
Where this one breaks down

If the knees do most of the bending, the glutes never fire. Hips back, not down.

The arms are ropes. Everything comes from a violent hip snap.
